Last night ACTION, alongside Mike G, took some time from organizing to put the Brick House Campus Garden to bed for the winter. None more dedicated. Great job.

Aquaponics with Christopher today was cool. He introduced me to the world of mushrooms. I had no clue there was so much interesting weird mushrooms that were worth a lot of money in the food industry. That is why I’m trying to convince him to go for the gold and find the expensive mushroom called Truffle. I believe if he bred these he would be RICH!

This image is of a cool young man named Boris I met a couple of weeks ago during a visit to Rocking the Boat’s Community Rowing on saturdays throughout the summer. Boris treated my son and I to a great experience along the Bronx River. He is a great example of what happens when a young person from this community is given an opportunity to learn and work in a safe and nurturing environment. Boris is a boat builder and college student who is very dedicated to changing his community for the positive. For more info on Rocking the Boat check out: www.rockingtheboat.org.

THOSC:

Saturday, I went to the House of Spoof summer show. It was an amazing display of art that people in our community and other people. This drawing is called “The Capital Of Work” by Sylvestre Hopfner. I don’t really understand what’s going on in the picture, but it looks real nice.

This picture is called “Freshman Year” by Andrew Pena. Just the title itself says a lot. You can see that Andrew has been through a lot because of what you can see in the picture. Im assuming that he had gotten beaten up during the his Freshman year.
